I Did a HUGE Anime Tier List and These are My Thoughts

Welcome, weebs, to Animated Observations

Hey friends, sorry for the extended break without much notice. Unfortunately, I have not had much motivation when it comes to writing or putting out posts. However, my lack of writing has given me more time to explore some other media along with hanging out with friends and just generally exploring life. Work has also been keeping me fairly busy since I’ve been working 20–30 hours a week recently.

However, a friend of mine sent me a huge anime tier list that we both did our own versions of. As such, I thought it would be fun to share mine since it did take me a couple of hours to organize and finalize my thoughts on some of these shows. The “rules” if one wants to call them that were that I could only include stuff that I had finished all the way through at least one season, and for movies obviously finishing the whole thing. Also, nothing is ordered within tiers because that would have taken way too long.

That being said, here is my list:

I honestly do not know if most of these require a lot of explanation, but I will try and pre-empt a few objections in case people are curious.

Not a Beastars Fan…

For those unaware, Beastars is not a show I enjoy all that much, and honestly has been a bit overrated by a lot of people. At least in terms of the anime. It does have good music, and the 3D animation honestly is some of the best by anime standards, but that is about where my praise of the series ends. The story structure feels really out of wack and the worldbuilding feels incredibly melodramatic and low-key kinda racist in a weird way. For those who want my full thoughts on the show, I do have reviews of both seasons one and two on this blog as well.

March Comes in Like a Lion is a Goddamn Masterpiece

Just go watch it. No I mean, like, right now. While certainly not having the cheeriest of dispositions, March Comes in Like a Lion is one of those shows that really speaks to the human experience in a way not many others can. Rejection, anxiety, fear of loss, melodrama, bullying, and so many other things are covered in 44 20-minute episodes and it all centers around this wimpy kid who does not even know if he wants to play shogi or not. It is kind of tragic how little attention this series has for how good it truly is

Otherwise, feel free to ask questions/argue about stuff in the comments.

Hey friends, hoping to have some kind of update out in the next week or so, but until then, I will be off the grid for a bit longer. Peace!
